Autumn is On its Way .

Yes it's still hot day but nights are starting to have lower temperature's like in high 50's. Signs of Autumn are everywhere for those who are watching .
      I hate to see summer leave.Its my favorite time of the year along with spring.
I have canned some pickles bread & butter, given to me by a friend.A gallon jug and a half a gallon jug of refrigerator pickles,which will keep for months .

Refrigerator Pickles
REFRIGERATOR PICKLES


Cut cucumbers & onions , green peppers to fill gallon jar.

Put in pan :pour ice over for 10 minutes

Pour off and place back in jar

Mix; 4 cups sugar, 1/4 cup salt,

4 cups vinegar

1 1/2 tsp. turmeric

1 1/3 tsp. celery seed

11/3 tsp. dry mustard

Bring to Boil and pour over cucumbers in jar. let set in fridge & use when ready.
++++ Hope to get some tomatoes $10. a half bushel to make salsa  & tomato soup.

 I have not been knitting / crocheting as much this past month.I must have burn out !
 I am working on a pair of socks and have a baby afghan on the hook.
    Still doing my Friday night family meal for those who can come. Made these last night when my son & grandson came to attach a piece of guttering back.

  4. It is still hot where I live in Arkansas. I love summer but we've had a long hot one this year and I'm so looking forward to cooler temperatures and Autumn. My husband's Mother's name is Elsie and I'm a grandma so I had to stop by and say "hi" to you.
