Still Here

Well the Primrose are blooming again and I am still here.
Was a cold wet winter and still May is cool & wet. But the flowers are simply showing themselves.
And I might add, given me a new lease on life.
I was in so much pain from December till 2 weeks ago I didn't feel sociable and glad I didn't inflect my negativity on my blog... we all have *aches * pain and there is much better things to post about.Did go to Orthopedic doctor.Did a MRI and found my problem is; Spinal Stenosis   http://www.spinalstenosis.org/
Options ; see surgeon or injections. I am going with the injections at the moment and it is helping 85%.Enough said

I have knitted socks a lot & got burn out so past month I have crocheted baby blankets. Here are a couple from  Leisure Arts book  Keepsake Baby Afghans; I crocheted them in Lion Brands One Pounder. These pictures are the actual ones I crocheted. the book ones are in a different color.

Sweet Memento was easy and went fast.

The Green afghan is; Delicate Souvenir and I had a hard time with understanding the instructions for the Edging.
The instructions could have been more clear in my opinion then I would not have had to ravel so much

I had fun helping with a "girls day " at our church
I did a tea for the refreshments
many found they liked hot tea and ask for seconds.
they surprised me by selecting me
" Queen for a day "

  1. My SIL suffered with the spinal stenosis and tried the injections but didn't get much relief...ultimately she had to stop working, and had surgery...she's now doing very well and is back to horseback riding. Hang in there.

    Beautiful baby blankets.

I think the blankies are cute. Are these the actual ones you crocheted?

  3. Welcome Back!! I have missed you:) Yes, I know there will be a great reunion soon. I am having a very difficult time with missing her though. Not a day goes by that I do not shed a very selfish tear.
I love your blankets. They are very pretty. The green one is especially pretty. Glad you were able to sort out the instructions.
I have begun posting my knitting on a separate blog that you can access by clicking on the picture of Mwenebolongo and his wife on my side bar. I would love for you to go take a look:) We all need our egos fed sometimes, you know.
Hope your return means you feel well enough to continue blogging and I see much of you on here in the future.

  4. It's so good to see you blogging again. Those are beautiful blankets. How I wish I knew how to do that! That's one of the reasons I taught myself to knit, I couldn't make head or tails out of crochet instructions. I can chain, single crochet, and double crochet, but that's about it. I don't know how to 'do' anything with it. ;-)

I'm so sorry you've suffered so. Pain robs us of so much.
