Luke 2;11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.

************************************************************************************ These are the scarves I have been crocheting for the abused women's home. Have one more on the needles . Something to keep them warm , after all they had to leave home with only the clothe on their backs. We have cold winters here in Virginia . My family's favorite Christmas cake; Hershey Bar cake. and it is chocolate , chocolate with chocolate. LOl it weighed in this year at 5 1/2 lbs. This is the first year I have had a tree since my husband died.
I haven't decided where I will place it yet.
But as it reminds me of the cross, The baby Jesus was hung on to give us everlasting life:  just like the evergreen has long life,
the lights means to me , Jesus is the light of the world so bright in the darkness.
the gifts under the tree are to give away to those we love. Just as he gave the best gift of all to those he loved , us whom he created..
He gave his life to redeem us back to God, because he loved us so.
So I put up my tree again. Example of the decorations on my tree. This is not a good picture . This is the naivety we bought 49 years ago form our local Roses Store . I still set it up on top of my piano. I crocheted the blanket for baby Jesus ..Many many years ago. As you can see : No church here today. I can not get my comments to line up with the pictures as I want. But haven't been on here in a while so Bloggers might be having issues. So if my words run into each other .I am sorry. Merry Christmas to all my Blogging friends.

  1. Your snow pictures are beautiful - good day to stay inside!
I like the Nativity with the little blanket too.
Those scarves will be appreciated for the warmth and the way they show that someone cares.

  2. I'm so glad you put up a Christmas tree again. I can't even imagine what losing a husband is like, pray I don't have to anytime soon. I'm still glad that that little Christmas tree is up again in your home.

Love the nativity scene. It has a Brummel look to it.

We had a ton of snow yesterday too and church was canceled yesterday morning but we get out last night for church. There weren't many of us there but HE was there!

Hope you have a WONDERFUL Christmas week!

By the way, I gained five pounds just looking at the Christmas cake!!

  7. I was up in Covington for Christmas and we drove through the snowstorm Friday before Christmas! It was really, um, not fun. But it was lovely after we got there. I think they had about 20".
